Well Vodafone CS won’t let me sign up to Passport…. apparently because when I took out my contract and I negotiated a £5 per month discount, I can’t have two bites of the cherry.

If I want Passport I have to drop my discount….. nice!

Heheheh you said “Dongle”!

Sorry… where was I…?

FYI, Vodafone's* roaming data rates are £5 for 24 hours (for 15MB). Enough for a bit of Shozu & Google Maps but that's about it. If you're on holiday, you should be enjoying the sights – not checking your twitter ;-)

Does that include the U.S. ?

TerenceEden May 21, 2009 at 16:39

Hush your lips!

I don't think so. But it does include Vatican City.

That is Dan Lane’s awesome toy… It’s plugged into a VoIP system and ACTUALLY WORKS… cool.

P.S. Sorry for the appalling accent.

There’s some more tales of woe with cancelling contracts here: http://www.bitterwallet.com/3-like-home-3-squirm-as-customers-cancel-contracts

Nope, it’s a US payphone. It lives in my livingroom (where this was filmed) and is one of my most favourite things.

Is that a 1970's mobile phone leaning against the wall behind Ben's right shoulder?

Having seen Ben stuck in a space without decent 3G or 2G coverage – I can imagine him reverting to his Scout's creed and packed an analogue mobile in his backpack “just in case”.

Vodafone is the biggest mobile company in the world so thay have the money to drop this 75p connection charge for good!
Love Big Red.
Don't like 3.

tut tut James, trust you to giggle at the word 'dongle' lol

worldofnokia May 21, 2009 at 21:33

just a note to any 3UK customers, the removal of 3LikeHome is allowing you to get out of your contract.

Just call 333 and say that is the reason and you can cancel with no ETF!

“Dongle” is the funniest word. My mother cracks up laughing everytime it’s said!

Gabe May 22, 2009 at 12:02

Has 3 stopped 3-like-home for sure?

Their group CTO refered to that service as an example of how they’ve been disruptive at conference earlier this week.

Off topic, Anyone know where there’s a good review of the HTC Magic?

Like how you’ve done the mobile site, btw.

DanLane May 22, 2009 at 12:10

Yes, 3-like-home is definitely stopping on the 30th of June. They sent an SMS to those who have previously used 3-like-home containing a link to the website http://mobile7.three.co.uk/sdf/3lhactive1 which can only be seen from within Three’s network (so view it on your 3UK handset). The excuses they gave seemed flimsy and unsupported.

We have an HTC Magic in for review and we’ll be doing a head-to-head with the stock G1 and a hacked G1 in out first full show.

Thanks for your support :)

You really ought to do a piece on the new H3G pre-paid rates (that went live on 1st June).

Free internet (up to 150 MB) + free Skype + bundle of free SMS + free voicemail + free on-net voice

All valid fro 90 days per top-up! (Minimum topup = GBP 5)

Absolutely amazing!

Ricky Chotai June 9, 2009 at 00:20

I have been meaning to do it. It is on my list to do, but I agree fantastic!
