Ok. I have been using this phone for the past 3 months after i lost my n 82. There is no question that it's a downgrade for me when it comes to camera performance and internal memory and ram. I also found typing on my n 82 better than on this (suprisingly).
But at it's price point, it does pack a punch. I have got solid battery performance, a very very decent camera (especially for videos), fantastic media performance, good web browsing and nokia messaging support. It has got tv out. Actually, it packs quite a punch. I think i can live with it. My upgrade option is the upcoming e72. So guess, am gonna hold onto this for 4-5 more months! Even after then, it won't be going out of my family. Will be used by my wife. To be honest, it quite like the size. Think of the features packed in this small package.

This was my first smart phone and by God do I despise it. If I could cause it physical pain I would. The 79 crashes constantly, drops calls nearly all the time and when you accidentally slide the camera to open and the screen changes to camera, when you try to exit out of it, it just freaks out and takes at least a minute to recover. Cannot ever get the back cover off. One positive thing is that it is robust, I have dropped it and flung it across the room in frustration and it still works. I never wanted another phone so badly, I understand why it wasn't marketed heavily by Nokia.

I agree Ricky, it could be a great little feature but I almost think it's just too small to do the job properly.

I really like the form factor – a big improvement on the silly keys of the N78 and N82 (the latter which I love otherwise).

Valid points. To be fair, one of the first things I do on a phone is turn off Nokia's 'Naviwheel' feature. It sucked on the N81, and it's sucked on every phone that's had it since. Complete waste of a cool opportunity.
