The Huawei G6600 looks oddly familiar…

by Ben Smith on 4th November 2009

The Bluetooth SIG have – once again – leaked a much anticipated handset…. This time it’s the Huawei G6600, a QWERTY form-factor handset presumed to run Android.

A QWERTY Android device from the Chinese giant… Nice. Android’s still better with a full keyboard in my (not so humble) opinion).

HUAWEIG6600 and INQ Chat

However, if I was the design team at INQ (I’m not – don’t panic) I might be wondering if Huawei hadn’t accidentally pressed ‘send’ on the wrong e-mail… The G6600 (Android or not) bears a striking resemblance to the the yet-to-be released INQ Chat (a BREW device running INQ’s custom software, similar to the INQ Mini), which is also manufacturer by Huawei for INQ.

Imitation, they say, is the sincerest form of flattery… but I wonder if the INQ design team might not be crossing Huawei off their Christmas-card list…

Ouch, that’s a touch blatant isn’t it?!

yeah but theres only so much you can do in that format

its more E71/E72 rip off,
the INQ device is hardly a innovative design classic
of course they are all emulating the RIM form factor anyway

That running Android would be i real winner, i acquired a Pulse made by them and it shames devices at three times its price, hate INQ, always did.
