We know you mostly hang round here to watch us squabble and laugh at our gadget lust, but this might be of interest to you: the Global Messaging Awards 2010 are fast approaching and you’ve got until the end of May to get your nominations in.
With all the app-related excitement of-late we often forget the rich (actual richness and the ‘full of variety’ kind) of services available from SMS. It is a universal and still hugely popular platform: 11million messages every hour a helpful press-release tells me. And that’s a lot.
So, if you’re involved in an SMS-based service - for consumer or business - then get nominating yourselves. Alternatively, if there’s a service you use and love let them know they need to get their hats in the ring. There are 10 categories to enter:

The final closing date for entries is 31st May 2010 and you can find out more at the awards website. The winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner on the 22nd June during the Global Messaging Congress.
